It’s time! Hilliard Solutions is excited to collaborate with Scholar Baller, Athletes Think and the Diversity & Social Issues in Sports Graduate Class at the University of Central Florida to present the first-ever Women in Athlete Development Symposium & Networking Event April 1st at UCF. This inaugural event is an exclusive educational, professional development and networking experience for recent graduate students, women currently working in athlete development positions and others seeking to advance in the industry to gain valuable knowledge, insight and advice from nationally recognized women industry experts, practitioners and researchers.

Symposium session discussions will center around how to enter the field of athlete development, advance in one’s current position, the education, training and experiences needed in the field, how to identify and secure career opportunities, overcome gender barriers and build a network that can advance one’s career. Leading the symposium are Kim Durand, Sr. Associate Director of Athletics, University of Washington; Corliss Fingers, Director of Strength and Conditioning, Bethune-Cookman University; Dr. Libba Galloway, Adjunct Professor of Business and Sport Law, Stetson University; Jessie Gardner, Assistant Athletics Director, Student-Athlete Enhancement, University of Alabama; Ayana Lawson, Director of Community and Lifestyle Services, Oklahoma City Thunder; Erica N. Nelson, Director of Student-Athlete Development, University of Arkansas; Dr. Marissa Nichols, Director of Leadership and Career Development, Boston University Athletics; Dr. Michael Sagas, Professor, Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management, University of Florida and Allison Waymyers, former Director of Career and Professional Development, Clemson Football and current owner of Spry Players Group, LLC.

An intimate networking reception and social hour will allow symposium participants to engage one-on-one with industry professionals and guests. VIP registrants will participant in a group mentoring session with me to discuss their career goals and begin outlining a plan of action to achieve them.

Although enrollment in the symposium is full, interested individuals and organizations are invited to email me at [email protected] with questions regarding future events and to learn about Hilliard Solutions’ consulting services and programs. We’d love to assist you with achieving your career or business goals.
