While athlete development is a popular and ever-growing area in the sports landscape, the term itself is interpreted in many ways. Another challenge of the athlete development term is that many who work in the field do not go outside the sports industry to identify resources and services to help accomplish their goals. This can be problematic because not doing so limits our opportunity to provide the very best and most comprehensive support athletes need to be successful now and in the future.
